Nick Diaz to GSP: I am not impressed by your performance

The cameras had hardly stopped rolling on last night’s GSP/Condit Welterweight title bout when a familiar character offered his comments on St-Pierre’s winning performance. Former UFC interim Welterweight title challenger Nick Diaz took to Twitter to take a verbal jab at nemesis GSP, citing some former smack talk St-Pierre had directed at Matt Hughes:

  • grapplure

another decision…………. the only reason the grappling was exiting in gsp’s fight wit condit was because condit has half of his finishes by submission

  • highlife

as you are obviously not an MMA fan heres a link for you.

  • Bruce Lee

Hendro (Hendricks) vs Diaz while we wait for GSP vs Silva makes a lot of sense.

  • azzkika

Diaz was nowhere near beating Condit. He may have squeaked one round at best. He was outclassed by any sane reckoning. Anything else is just ignorance. GSP would annihilate DIaz judging by how COndit dominated him.

  • highkick12

Hendro sounds retarded. Just my opinion.

  • mindkontrolle

Why is Silva all over the WW discussion?? FVCKING PATHETIC. To hell with Silva-GSP “super-fight”, give Anderson to Jones. The names we should be talking about are GSP, HENDRICKS, NICK DIAZ, CONDIT…. GET THAT INTO YOUR FVCKING HEAD!!!!!

  • highkick12

Gsp had the best answer to that in the presser. Well I think I did better then Nick against Carlos.
I’d still watch any of them fight each other though.

  • mindkontrolle

KFC double shot was borderline brilliant……. but “Hendro”?? Jeez.

  • Bruce Lee

@ Highkick12 – what kind of mother names her son “highkick12″? And besides we don’t say retarded anymore we say cognitively impaired.

@ minkontrolle – it would fly if you jumped on board like you did with KFC

just kidding boys – can’t be brilliant ever time 😉

  • Bruce Lee

    Don’t yell, you’re giving me a headache.

  • Bruce Lee

  • Bruce Lee

    How about “Little Hendo”? No?

    How about “Hendo Jr.”? No?

    I’ll be back.

  • mindkontrolle

If I campaigned for Hendro like I did for KFC Double Shot??? Oh boy……..

  • PerryUppal

@azzkika here is some of the fighters opinions on who won Condit vs Diaz. I’m pretty sure they would know more then someone who sits behind his computer jacking off to GSP

  • Brian Cox

Diaz is the guy that came over from Strikeforce, right?

In all seriousness, Diaz has 12 fights (total) in The UFC, with an amassed record of 7 & 5. His last two fights were a decisions. A victory over a less than in shape and motivated, close to retiring BJ Penn and a decision loss to the guy GSP just beat and beat decisively.

I’m not entirely sure what Diaz wants to crow about, here. What was he not impressed by GSP’s ability to do what Diaz couldn’t? IMO this is just Diaz trying to stay relevant and keep his name in the mix in a division that has its Champion back, a new slugger in the way of Johnny Hendricks, who, surely must be the next in line for The Champ, and the addition of guys like Demian Maia and Nate Marquardt (coming) to 170 …he’s just trying to keep himself on the 170 title radar.

I think a good fight for him in his next bout might be against Kampmann. They are both coming off losses. The winner stays in the mix, the loser doesn’t. However, Condit / Kampmann would also be an interesting fight.

Note to Dana – regardless of any outcomes, the fans would still like to see GSP / Diaz.

  • David Saucier

    John bomb……no

  • blackdiesel

Diaz have said many times he don’t have a twitter account. This is the same guy who have a fake Nate Diaz account too. Diaz209 is NOT Nick Diaz.

  • HunterB

    one more retarded comment

  • mindkontrolle

It has to be connected to a Jimi Hendrix pun

  • IChokePeople

Who gives a sh^t what his UFC record is? His overall record is great and he has pulled off wins against guys that have done some pretty impressive things in the UFC. He KOd Paul Daley. Now I will be the first to say that Paul sucks as an MMA fighter but that was a striking match (in that no one tried anything else) and Diaz KOd him. Paul KOd Kampmann who was arguably the number one guy until last night. As for the fight with BJ, BS. Every time he loses “he wasn’t motivated or in shape” That was as god a BJ as you get (no jokes on that one, it’d be cheap).

  • Clinch_z_Demise

hahaha I marked those funny but I guess people just hate you, FEDOOOOOR

  • dropkickmurphy

I will be impressed with Diaz when he beats a top 15 guy.

  • mindkontrolle

    my bad

  • Brian Cox

My only point ICP, is that for Diaz to say he’s not impressed with last nights performance, one has to ask what has he done, particularly since coming back to The UFC, that would impress anyone? He beat Penn in a three round decision. Big deal. I would hardly call BJ a contender @ 170. Penn is also a guy that GSP crushed (made him quit…quit). Something Diaz couldn’t do two years later. Diaz also couldn’t beat or control Condit. Something GSP did handily.

And in terms of knocking out guys like Paul Daley, who cares? If it’s a question of doing a straight-up comparison of whose beaten who, then GSP wins that comparison with walking away. He’s on a ten fight winning streak, with 7 title defenses in a row and against the cream of the crop in The UFC. On a name-for-name, marquis name match-up GSP has beaten the red carpet crowd and Diaz has beaten the not-ready-for-prime time crowd. I mean no disrespect to the fighters Diaz has beaten, but I don’t see how they can be compared to the talent that GSP has beaten.

I’m sorry ICP, he’s a good fighter and an exciting fighter and I’m glad he’s back in the big show, but how he could tweet that he wasn’t impressed with GSP’s performance, when Diaz couldn’t even beat the guy, is just Nick letting off some steam and trying to keep his name in the mix. IMO.

  • FoetusFarm

    like BJ Penn?

  • Bruce Lee

Looks like your Jimi Hendrix connection is a winner. Mine today all bombed. Tough crowd :(

  • HolyGrimace666

@blackdiesel No, hes right!!! that isnt nick diaz’ real account.. i know the twitter accounts are fake but i dont know about the instagram accounts…

    THIS ENTIRE POST IS FRAUDULENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kungfurule

    How about the Bearded Bomber

  • Bruce Lee

Okay, I got almost four times as many “weaks” as the spammers at the bottom of the thread!! Come guys – a little appreciation for my comedic efforts.

On that note: here’s a joke I made up: the family and I were driving to Mount Rushmore when the GPS unit said “you’re destination is a head”
    ha ha…aw never mind.

  • Kris-tyahn

BAHAHAHAH – I loved that comment! You deserve 2 Cools & 2 Funny’s – So many GSP haters out there, 9 weaks?!? Yeah b/c he’s right, so it must be weak, you idiots!

  • Kris-tyahn

Ughhh when was the last time BJ ranked a top 10 in WW division? He sure was not when he fought Diaz, considering he has a 3-4-1 record at WW. Too bad all those cool & sharp comments came from people who don’t know their facts. BJ was a .500 fighter @ WW, do you honestly think that’s worth a top 10 ranking in any divison, let alone the WW division?!? P.S 2 of those wins were vs. Hughes, one in his prime the other not so much. The other win was vs. Ludwig!

  • Kris-tyahn

WTF? Why would Diaz get a shot at a guy whos comming off a win & has won 4 or 5 straight, while Diaz is comming off a loss?!? How does that make any sense? B/C you are a Diaz fan? I get it now!

  • Kris-tyahn

Ugh the point is the UFC record is what matters dip shit! Who cares about Wins in the “minor” leagues genius. WOW Diaz beat Paul Dailey & KJ Noons & old Frank Shamrock … WOW the names get more & more impressive (wink wink). Didn’t Diaz lose to KJ? OUCH! Also, his point is Diaz can barely beat the top ranked UFC fighters, which is important b/c he FIGHTS IN THE UFC you jello ****. He’s barely .500 in the UFC, which means he’s alittle above avg., welcome to the big leagues Diaz.

  • Kris-tyahn

    Check & Mate! MMA truth 1 – ICP 0

Anyone who actually follows UFC would know that is not a quote from Diaz ……..grammatically correct and no spelling errors??!!
No way the Stockton bad boy would post that.

  • JTalbain

Why not both? Silva vs GSP followed by Silva vs Jones?

  • ny2ut2id2nv

Seven words have never caused such a response from the MMA community.

  • ksooner76

mannnn after the way Daiz fought with Condit im sorry that fight would be a huge disappiontment year or two ago yeah but now damn look what
GSP did to Condit ….only one time was he in trouble he controlled other
than that Daiz and Condit fight sucked cause they fight the same the fight
GSP/DAIZ would suckwith GSP pushing but SAFE and Daiz when he gets
in trouble he flicks his hand out and tries to act like the other guy isnt
doing anything when really neither are then it will be the world is against him the judges suck BLAH BLAH BLAH…just tired od the DAIZ soap opera

  • ksooner76

mannn BJwasnt even ranked in that weight class just had a name
was a famous fighter fighting in a upper weight class no where near his prime Daiz had a win win in that fight if he lost it was a lost to a legend
and the fight was ok at best Daiz couldnt even finish yeah ….Daiz has PR figured out or would of faded along time ago what sucks is he has the talent but no control self destructs

  • Cookie77

Maybe the reason why Nick was not impress with GSP performance is.. He was not high when he watch the fight… You know like if you watch certain movies when you high it’s like toooooootally different man… LOL

  • azzkika

What about the other fighters who say Condit outclassed him? Fighters disagree on many things so using a few who support your deluded opinion proves nothing other than you’re desperate to let the hater shades blind you to the truth, which is Condit totally outclassed Diaz.

  • DonDada

    U obviously dont smoke

  • DKMcGrath

Renato Leranja was not impressed wif Nic Diaz smoking the heefer.

  • TheRealDeal

    Ahhhh…. the idiot strikes again.

  • TheRealDeal

We are finding out that onemoreround is not only a huge WWE fan, but he was dropped on his head as a child….

  • TheRealDeal

Can’t be Diaz’ tweet…..spelled “impressed” and “performance” both correctly in the same sentence.

  • x murderer

In the fight vs penn diaz broke the record of most significant strikes landed in the ufc EVER. he may not always be a finisher but the way he fights is very well impressiv. he’s patient and brakes his opponent piece by piece. he’s probably the best boxer in mma. he had 11 straight wins in a row before he lost a contriversal decision against condit. he’s now is his prime. don’t tell me you don’t see the differenct between a 2004 diaz and diaz today. same with his brother btw.

  • MereDictum

It was sorta funny the first time, several post ago, but now . . . not so much.

  • KeithFarrell

BJ wasn’t ranked top 10? Are you joking??? The division looked different then and Penn was EASILY top 10

  • KeithFarrell

    @azzkika +1

  • KeithFarrell

Exactly, by Diaz logic…. Bigfoot was unimpressed with JDS beating Cain

  • KeithFarrell

Someone still has there medical marijuana licence

  • Def_tac

Hey gangsta! I can see you putting your two cents in if you had won the Condit fight but for you to say anything right now is irrelevant. That comment would have been good a year ago(maybe). Sometimes not saying anything is better. Lame.

  • IChokePeople

@ Kris-tyahn; I was about to make an intelligent argument about why you are wrong but what you posted was too ludicrous to warrant it. Damn that was dumb.

  • IChokePeople

and even if it was Diaz, It was clearly half joking.

  • dean Roberts

GSP was rusty, he was bounds to be after all that time out of the ring but he still beat the man who beat Diaz.. Condit Diaz fight was close but Diaz just didn’t do enough and lost fair and square. GSP v Diaz would now be boring! Diaz would just get taken to the ground and beaten for five rounds. Diaz will keep talking crap until he gets his fight but I think that fight is no longer interesting.

And as for Silva! go and sit ring side at John Jones next fight you big coward

  • PerryUppal

Count how many fighters chose Diaz over Condit and vice versa. Aswell there are many MMA journalists like Ariel Helwani and Joe Ferraro who gave Diaz the nod over Condit. Yes, Condit outsruck Diaz according to this but Diaz landed more head and body strikes the only reason Condit got the nod was because of his pussy leg kicks

  • PerryUppal

KeithFarrell, honestly you’re a joke out of all the articles I read you are the most frequently weaked. Nobody gives a **** about your opinion

  • sadowolf

Well GSP did a hell of a lot more to Condit than Diaz did, so what does that say about his own performance?

  • OscarJoseGuerrero

DERP DERP DERP. If you’re going to try to comment at least pass the 5th grade. And diaz will get handled for 5 rounds via dry hump.

  • limoman21

i think diaz should watch the fioght better cause i seen gsp through condit like a ragdoll for most if the fight so how about we see if diaz can fight other then his mouth put diaz against hendricks and the winner gets gsp

  • Evan Holober

    Exactly Keith.

Penn was easily top 10, and had an argument for top 5. Drawing (although I thought he lost) with the #2 WW in the world (at the time) after KOing Hughes will get you in the top ten at least.

  • Evan Holober

Let’s go a step further, how about the men who score fights during each event. Check MMA Junkie, MMA Weekly, Sherdog, MMA Fighting, MMA Mania, Bloody Elbow, PRO MMA Now, and see what the majority opinion is of who won.

I’ll give you a hint, your opinion is the minority (although a very large minority).

Plus, I like Keith’s opinion. It’s better than bringing up facts that tell one side of the story.

  • Evan Holober

But the bottom line was it was a close(ish) fight. Fight Metric scores it perfectly. 3-2 for Condit, with Diaz winning the 2nd and 5th rounds.

  • greeneyeleo

I would LOVE if they made Diaz vs. Hendricks happen! OMG… just like when they had Diaz fight Robby Lawler- another heavy hitter! Diaz just outboxed him, plain and simple- what a KO that was!

One thing is for sure, if Diaz fights Hendricks, there won’t be a decision… now that would be a stand up WAR!

  • Evan Holober

    MMA Truth:

Your bring up some great points, but I just wanted to comment on the Diaz-Penn fight ( vs. GSP-Penn). GSP made BJ quit in the fourth. Diaz only had three rounds to work with.

I’m of the opinion that BJ breaks if he has to go 2 more rounds with Nick (or Fitch for that matter).

  • MMArmaggeddon

I am not impressed with you trying to copy Georges Style @nickdiaz.

Honestly, if Diaz shut his mouth, he’d be Martin Kampmann. Because he sticks his face out there, he’s got a legion of people who support him and go on like he’s the greatest of all time. His biggest victory of note was against a less than motivated BJ Penn. And BJ might have finished that fight had be been a couple of inches taller.

Diaz has been doing nothing but getting people to fight “his” fight for years by duping people into brawls. Look at any of his Strikeforce victories…A smart and intelligent fighter like Georges could pick his shots and duck in and out of punishment. Then we’d see Diaz cry again. He might come back from suspension and beg for a fight with GSP…but I’m more inclined for the UFC to give him a fight with Hendricks.

  • x murderer

gsp is a great champ, no doubt. but diaz is a great fighter too and I think he is quite a thread for geaorges. who cares about the twitts…its all business in the end. I’m sure nick knows about gsp’s qualities as a fighter.

  • GoldenBibi

    War Diaz…..

  • azzkika

Keith I get weaked regardless on here cos I tell it how it is and it disturbs their rosy bubbles they exist in. I don’t care about being popular, cos knowing I’m right us far more satisfying.

  • azzkika

Yeah Perry, those pussy kicks that gave GSP a conjoined twin on the side of his head.

  • azzkika

To be fair Diaz didnt cry too much after the Condit fight, just his clingons.

  • Brian Cox

You would be correct on the rounds. You could well be correct on the point. However, we will never know, but your point is made.

  • Brian Cox

I agree that Nick is a great fighter. I’ve stated so. And I think a fight between GSP and Diaz, would be a great fight. I’d buy it. With that said, I’d take GSP all day. However, we may have a problem in the fight coming to fruition. Nick needs a win. At least one to be given the shot. The problem is (IMO) that some of those fights look, to me, as being tough fights to win. If they give him Hendricks, for example, as the last test before a / his title shot that could go badly. Diaz is tailor made for Johnny…comes straight forward, not a great wrestler, not known as a power puncher. That’s an ugly fight for Nick – IMO. I’d love to see Nick and George fight, but I fear we might have missed our window of opportunity.

  • apocalypse123

Check the compustrike. Condit won that fight.

  • PerryUppal

    Condits kicks vs powerful kicks

  • chafra

Smoke another blunt Nick, you got your ass kicked by Condit, GSP would destroy you and you even let weed screw up your mma career. No one gives a crap about you until you get your act cleaned up. So how about you shut up and fight. Just fight. Don’t get high, just fight.

  • Evan Holober

It’s good that those weren’t the only leg kicks landed in the fight now isn’t it.

  • x murderer

nick has never been knocked out cold. there was a tko 10 yrs ago where the fight got stopped by the ref. he already guys with one punch ko power like daley. sure, he could get caught but I see the fight go like most of his recent ones where he took his opponents apart. gsp is a smart fighter indeed. he would probably have this fight very well planned and get the win.

  • x murderer

    I missed a “beat”…

  • wil

Diaz isn’t impressed with anything is he..? GSP’s fight with Conduit was brilliant in my books. Technically sound in well rounded positioning in stand up,side , top and bottom control.
It’s been some time since I’ve watched such a fantastic fight that was moving in all directions-nice to feel that energy that the Old “UFC” produced -which has been sadly lacking for quite some time…
    cheers.. w
