Joe Ellenberger Will Debut Against Unbeaten Frank Trevino At Fight Night 44

Newly signed lightweight Joe Ellenberger was unable to make his promotional debut at UFC 172 due to his opponent Vagner Rocha pulling out injured, but it appears that the younger sibling of welterweight ‘Juggernaut’ Jake will get his chance to shine; Frank Trevino will welcome Joe to the big leagues on June 28.

UFC Fight Night 44 will play host to the fight, and hopefully Ellenberger can keep hold of his opponent this time round. After originally being booked to fight Yancy Medeiros at UFC 172, Ellenberger was unfortunate to lose the replacement after Medeiros stepped in for Bobby Green against Jim Miller.

Ellenberger will look to improve his tidy 14-1 record as he faces the hometown favourite in Texas, and it will not be an easy debut by the looks of things. Trevino is 14-0 as a pro, and looked very slick in his last win over Renee Forte. Check out how the Fight Night 44 card is shaping up:
