Jacare signs 5-fight deal, set to make octagon debut

Former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza recently signed a 5-fight contract with Zuffa subsidiary “Forza”. Forza being the parent company of Strikeforce as Zuffa is to the UFC.

What’s interesting is the fact that Jacare has been inked to make his official octagon debut regardless of whether he wins or loses his upcoming Strikeforce fight against UFC veteran Ed Herman. On behalf of Zuffa, this move shows some serious confidence in Jacare’s drawing power and talent as a fighter.

With the final Strikeforce event set to take place this January 12th, Jacare will no doubt be looking to finish his Strikeforce tenure with an impressive win, setting himself up for a what could be a solid beginning as an exciting, fresh, new Middleweight contender for a UFC Championship.
