Manager Pushing For Frankie Edgar vs. Cub Swanson At UFC on FOX 13 In December

Streaking featherweight monster Cub Swanson was very vocal in the lead up to BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar 3, stating that he would happily face the winner of the trilogy match at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale. ‘Beautiful Destruction’ is on a six-fight tear in the UFC 145-pound division, and most recently won a decision against Jeremy Stephens in a thrilling five round shootout at UFC Fight Night 44.

”The Answer’ was also victorious with a heartbreaking third round TKO against ‘The Prodigy’, and with Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes II being moved to UFC 179, it seems that a December showdown between Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar may be in the works for UFC on Fox 13 in Phoenix. Ariel Helwani and Edgar’s manager Ali Abdelaziz speculated on the bout via Twitter:

The Answer’ was victorious his last two bouts, having won a hard fought decision against Charles Oliveira at UFC 162, before retiring his old foe ‘The Prodigy’ on July 6. A win for either man would surely put them next in line for the winner of Aldo vs. Mendes II, but you could argue that Swanson would be putting more on the line here.

Swanson could arguably sit and wait for the championship fight, so big props to him for living up to his word and fighting again. In my opinion it’s better to stay active anyway.

Who’s your pick to win this pivotal bout if it comes to fruition?
