Clay Guida vs. Robbie Peralta & Justin Jones vs. Ron Stallings Added To UFC Fight Night 63

UFC Fight Night 63 is set to go down on April 4, 2015 live on Fox Sports 1 from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. A few weeks back, it was announced that featherweight standouts Chad “Money” Mendes and Ricardo “The Bully” Lamas would battle it out in the main event of what could be deemed a title eliminator bout.

Today (January 29, 2015), the UFC has announced two more fights that are official for this upcoming card, which was confirmed by MMAJunkie. Fan favorite Clay “The Carpenter” Guida is set to take on Robbie Peralta in a featherweight duel and Justin Jones will clash with Ron Stallings in a middleweight scrap.

Guida is a veteran of the sport, but has split wins and losses since dropping from lightweight to featherweight in 2013. He scored a split decision win over Hatsu Hioki back at UFC on FOX 6 in January 2013. However, he was then starched by Mendes at UFC 164 in August 2013, his first time being stopped due to strikes.

“The Carpenter” bounced back with a “Fight of the Night” decision win over Tatsuya Kawajiri at UFC Fight Night 39 in April 2014, but was most recently submitted by Dennis Bermudez at UFC on FOX 12 last July.

Peralta will also be looking to get back in the win column, most recently suffering a submission loss to Thiago Tavares at UFC Fight Night 47 last August.

Jones made his UFC debut at UFC 181 last December. However, it was a short notice bout and he dropped a unanimous decision loss to former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winner Corey Anderson. Prior to that, Jones was riding a three-fight win streak with all being stoppages.

Stallings also recently made his UFC debut, and just like Jones, it was a short notice bout that didn’t go to well. He stepped in on a week’s notice earlier this month at UFC Fight Night 59 to take on Uriah Hall, and was stopped in the first round due to doctor’s decision due to a nasty cut.

With these new additions, the current fight night lineup looks like this:

  • Ricardo Lamas vs. Chad Mendes
  • Benson Henderson vs. Jorge Masvidal
  • Diego Ferreira vs. Dustin Poirier
  • Michael Chiesa vs. Mitch Clarke
  • Shamil Abdurahimov vs. Timothy Johnson
  • Liz Carmouche vs. Lauren Murphy
  • Luke Barnatt vs. Clint Hester
  • Milana Dudieva vs. Julianna Pena
  • Clay Guida vs. Robbie Peralta
  • Justin Jones vs. Ron Stallings
