Rashad Evans: I don't know if me and Jon Jones could ever "Squash the Beef"

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion “Suga” Rashad Evans participated in pre-UFC 135 Q&A session, discussing a wide array of topics related to his Mixed Martia Arts career. Evans spoke about his training at Imperial Athletiics, and some of the best talent the team has to offer. But in the end, the talk went down to the reigning Champion Jon “Bones” Jones and (now) the upcoming bout between the two. Evans stated he’s not sure whether him and Jon Jones could be on good terms ever again, giving just a bit of what is expected during a pre-fight build-up between the two.

I would have thought Rashad would prefer to be alone when he is going to “Squash the ‘beef’”

Rashad is a hater. People are saying he is the only one to give Jones a real test, lets get freakin real here. He has no tools to indicate he can do anything close to that. He barely beat Rampage and lets remember that Jones DOMINATED Rampage through the whole fight and then finished him. All the critics saying this is the real test are just selling the fight…ALL HYPE

I think Greg Jackson probably used to handle all their beefs … or any beef that rose up on the team. But the tension about the beef and the beef about the tension was too much and Rashad left.

Its all as plain as the nose on your face … only longer and more beefy.

    I agree about the math…
But as the pro critics are saying that this will be the biggest test for Jones is BS. Jackson was a bigger threat to Jones in my opinion. Rashad isnt very dangerous if you look at his arsonal. He definitely will not stand with Jones.. He will do alot of foot & head movements and then shoot… Jones has great takedown def. Hopefully he can feed him a good stiff knee as he comes…

Both sides openly said there was no beef before Jones became champ. They respected each other, called each other friends, even helped each other train for matches.

The “beef” did not start until Jones became champ. Rashad decided he wanted to take his shot at the belt, so he left. It’s as simple as that.

The only “beef” that exists is that which is to hype the fight and broken agreements about never wanting to fight each other. Which all came AFTER Jackson’s.

Agreed, but Rashads one of the best at hyping fights. So he’s gonna do his thing until the fights over.

LOL you are actually retarded, not only did rashad dominate jackson as well, but no tools are you serious? He rocked him early on and the only time he got clipped was shooting for a takedown nerd not standing up. hes got great striking and is probably the best wrestler in the light heavyweight division, hes definitely the fastest and he has beaten the top competition over and over and over like nobody else has, Quinton looses to rashad and he ends up with the title shot and you say that rashads the one who cant bring anything to the table lol… you’re ****ing retarded… Jones’s long limbs are easy targets for such a fast wrestler who can mix it up, not discrediting jones’s stand up, but in my eyes he forrest’d the shit out of rampage with all those kicks until the later rounds… but I see rashad doing work on Jonny bones

At least Rashad’s mom didn’t tell him not to fight Jones, like she did with Anderson Silva.

Every fighter Jones has ever faced has looked confused and tentative… because they have never dealt with Jones’ ridiculous combination of length, speed, athleticism and unpredictability.

Rampage sort of talked about it in his post-fight interviews – saying that the push-kicks and long reach make it difficult to come forward, and that “Rampage” did not show up for the fight.

The point is that nobody has “figured Jones out”. If that is possible, Rashad has already done it in training long ago. He will go into the fight knowing what Jones is capable of and knowing what to expect. That is his biggest advantage going into this fight.

Definate WWE aspect creeping into things. The Mc Mahon factor. He made millions selling pretend fights with the hype being more important than the fight itself. I’m sure Dana being the busine$$man is using marketing techniques ever since the UFC gifted Sonnen the UFC platform to trash talk anyone and anything in MMA so any so called blood has to be viewed skeptically. When Evans and Rampage were to fight they went out on a limb to declare their undying dislike of each other, when I bet in reality they got a healthy respect for each other. Same with the Jones fight. All BS selling.

PS: The fact there are 5 weakers to your factual statement shows the level of idiocy that resides within some sections of the fan base. Scary, that.

I agree… with MMA math it never goes as planned anything could happen….when evans fought rampage however he didn’t fight the rampage that jones fought that rampage would’ve KO’d Evans so I’m just throwing that out there…

Are you HIGH?! Rashad is not the fastest in LHW….I remember a little fight he had against someone named Lyoto where he made him look like a fool and Evans got KTFO! On top of that Evan was at the Pinnacle of his career…. Jones’ only real test in 205 is Lyoto Machida. Then he need to fight Silva before he get too old.

Yeah, pretty sad lol. All they have to do is watch the actual unedited interviews before Jones got the belt and the first interviews after he got the belt to see the truth. Ironically they are harder to find, and the edited ones are what make it looks like they were trash talking each other from the beginning. The trash talk really did not start until after the fight was announced and after Rashad left Jacksons.

But too many “fans” nowdays just follow the bandwagon and don’t care about the reality of the situation.
