POLL: Who should be next in line for a fight with Junior dos Santos?

Junior dos Santos has successfully defended his title for the first time, beating Frank Mir via TKO in Round 2. With Cain Velasquez defeating Antonio Silva in the co-main event, and Daniel Cormier winning the Strikeforce HW GP one week earlier, who should be next for “Cigano”?

Wow! I’ve never seen Cain look so scary! What a performance! Cormier should fight JDS for a unification and Cain should get the winner. Cain is a BEAST!!

    4. Other – Struve. He’s got the best chance of winning against JDS. Not often you see some one pulling guard as being that dangerous.

Cain needs one more fight under his belt against a top dude, like Miocic.

    You’re welcome Lorenzo.

I dont want to see a figth against a guy that already got destroyed ( at least for now ) so Cain, Werdum and struve are out – bring in DC…..

Cain won’t fight cornier. At this point jds looks invincible. His athleticism is unparalleled by anyone except Cain, who’s style plays right into his. It would take someone who is a better striker than he is to so much as get the fight to the ground. He reminds me of a more complete version of prime cro cop. Cormier has a fight left in strikeforce. Velasquez earned his shot tonight. All the top heavyweights have already lost to him except reem

He would need to take him down to the ground first and i think Cain has the best chance out of anybody in the heavyweight division to do that.

Cain is the #2 guy in the heavyweight division and arguably the #1 guy since you cant really gauge who the better fighter is from their 1st fight with a quick ko.

DC is an Olimpic level wrestler – possibly the best in all MMA – so who can possibly take JDS down?

Cormier has broken his hand, so he’s probably going to be out for a bit. That being the case, Velasquez makes the most sense, fitness permitting of course.

@ Brasil: I agree. DC has 1 of the best takedowns in mma and has very heavy hands. Skillsets that matches up with JDS. Problem is he fights with his hands too loose and ends up breaking them everytime he connects. He’ll be out for surgery so will not be able to fight in the very near future. He also has 1 fight left in SF. Other than that, he’s the man to expose JDS groundgame. I would really like to see who can maintain his unbeaten record if both would class. All the other options have already lost to JDS via 1st round (T)KO within 2 minutes.

The reason of their last fight being so short is why Cain needs one more win before getting a crack at the belt.

When someone handles you that easily, you don’t get a rematch after one fight.

I think Hunt and Werdum are a fight away. Therefore: Cain

Wow, what a weakfest. I didn’t realize this had become a Cain fansite overnight.

Cain is a tough guy, but I think Struve had the more difficult fight. Johnson is way more dangerous that Big Foot Silva, who now looks like he’s fighting in slow motion.

Since the loss to Browne, Struve has looked like a different fighter and would present an usual set of skills and abilities to challenge JDS.

The Cain huggers can weak me all they want, but Junior is bad match up for him. Don’t forget JDS was fighting him on a bum knee.

And if you think Daniel Cormier is walking into the UFC and a title shot, you’re dreaming. Even if he does have a decent chance with JDS, do you think Dana is going be in a big rush to validate the Strikeforce Champ?

Cormier has one fight left with SF contract, how about vs fedor when he recovers?

meanwhile JDS faces injury free Cain Velasquez for the HW tittle. Cain the terminator we knew before the injury was back yesterday. Beast performance.

Dcember, when Overeem returns, he should face a top contender but not direct shot at the title, as a tone up fight and also as punishment after all the scandal.

I was wrong about miocic i said he was slow and stuff but that i guy proved last night he is a beast. But to put him against cain would not be good for him just yet. i think they should put him against big country. to see where he is at. And cain is a beast of beast that was the m ost brutal shit in a long time. give cain the title shot he beats dos santos the second time around.
