sorry mirko i been a real fan but the last years u been all talk and excuses, im saying this and im sad saying cause i wished so much that u were gonna knock ufc fighters head off but u just not the same person since gonzaga’s fight!

i think mirkos problem may be psychological, he is extremely inconsistent in performance and at times he is extremely aggressive and other wise he seems like he doesnt want to be there (mir, congo and overeem fight in japan) if he gets his head right, 2011 might be great

as much as id love to believe what hes saying i dont think it will be…however the fact that he still has the desire to be the best is brilliant and if he were able to get 1 or 2 wins in 2011 (possibly by headkick? ha) itd make my year tbh, one of the all time greats

either this will be his year or it will be his last.

I’m a huge fan of Mirko, and it would be great if he could find the killer instinct once again that made him such a great fighter in Pride. It seems that he has had trouble pulling the trigger – even in the Mir fight it seemed he could have finished that fight if he had just gone for it. I’m not sure how much the short notice had to do with that – he was able to keep the fight on his feet the entire 3 rounds but didn’t capitalize on it.
I know that it may have a lot to do with nagging injuries; his constant knee problems following his surgery after his commitment to the UFC, back problems, etc.
I also feel he is likely too 1-dimensional this late in the game (I believe he is 36) and he has been training like an animal for almost 20 years. If he could be convinced to get into a better camp like Wolfslair or Golden Glory I think that he could make a lot of efficacious changes in training, and we really could see a new Cro Cop in 2011. I hope he fights Nogueira, or Roy Nelson in February.

mirko has all the tools but he’s not using them, its a mental thing…
best of luck to mirko! i hope he still can pull it off!
he needs to go to 205 think thats his only chance at success
December 26, 2010 at 7:11 pm
a motivated and hungry Cro cop can do some damage. He has a great sprawl but needs to start letting his hands and kicks go. Maybe he wont be winning and titles but if he delivers exciting fights like he did at UFC 115 im all for it.
December 26, 2010 at 8:27 pm
Cro Cop is a legend in the sport and You also have to love his optimism for 2011. However, I think it’s just going to be his retirement year.
December 26, 2010 at 9:25 pm
Well where I see Mirko is the “test” for guys who are in Matt Mitione or Brendan Scaub’s area. Hes the test for newcomers who made a good debut. I would also like to see Cro Cop vs Gonzaga 2.
December 26, 2010 at 10:05 pm
LOL Cro Cop doesn’t weigh 145kg (ie 320lbs)
December 26, 2010 at 10:34 pm
if he ko’s his opponent in feb the doubters will all suddenly be fans again… just like shoguns comeback
December 26, 2010 at 10:40 pm
The year he finally retires. It’s no fun watching him fight in the UFC
December 26, 2010 at 11:23 pm
Maybe if he starts to strike again instead of throwing like 2 kicks a fight….his time was when he won the HW GP but unfortunately for him Fedor still fought back then n couldnt become champ cause of that…now I dont see him even becoming a top 10 HW
December 27, 2010 at 12:06 am
its not him, its the guy he was throwing
December 27, 2010 at 12:42 am
Cro-Cop is in deniel. Bullshit. dos Santos exposed his heart.
December 27, 2010 at 12:51 am
Cro Cop needs to get back to headhunting and keep pushing forward. I have not liked the gun shy tactics as of late.
He better make a statement in 2011 or else it’s best he retires.
December 27, 2010 at 2:25 am
Got to agree with that. He doesn’t seem confident anymore. If he lets his hands and feet fly and gets a knockout, it might restore some of that.
A lot of his doubters are his fans.
December 27, 2010 at 3:18 am
I hope he can back up what he said. I still believe in him..
December 27, 2010 at 4:16 am
I hope its his year
December 27, 2010 at 4:36 am
Well, its not like Cro Cop is a shit talker… I mean, if he is saying this, that means he really believes it. So its a bit unnecessary to say he is “all talk.”
December 27, 2010 at 5:00 pm
First cro cop was a invalid.he was in top of k1 (wen the best fighters was fighting not like alistar today)and at top of the mma.he took to much punishment for a small heavyweight he is.but now i know for fact because i em from croatia that mirko is 100% 0 injuries he is hiting highkick agein after forever but dont get me wron he still have psychological problems from that ugly twich to no motivation but ho knows maybe some of old cro cop is still there to shine one more time
December 27, 2010 at 6:01 pm
why doesn’t he go for LHW?
December 27, 2010 at 7:53 pm
how can u not support this guy !
GO MIRKO !!!
December 28, 2010 at 6:26 am
If he doesn’t do what he did in ’06, I won’t be surprised. Disappointed? Yes, but not surprised. On the other hand, I still believe he is capable of damaging and beating a lot of top people, and if he did so, I wouldn’t be totally surprised. Other fighters have come back from mental weaknesses, bad performances, and inconsistencies. One of them will soon fight the P4P best for a title , and stands a “Phenom”inal chance of winning in devastating fashion. Will Cro Cop mount the comeback he says he will? I’m crossing my fingers so hard, they may break
December 28, 2010 at 12:52 pm
Lets hope this is your year CroCop
