Lesnar vs Valasquez wont happen at UFC 119

Unfortunately Brock Lesnar will not be back in action as soon as we thought. Dana White dismissed the rumor that Brock Lesnar and Cain Valasquez would headline UFC 119.

“Reports that Brock is fighting in Indy Sept. 25 are false,” White wrote via text to MMA Fighting

Although Brock said he left the fight without any serious injuries an injury may be the reason he wont be competing so soon. MMAjunkie reports that Lesnar will be out until Aug. 3 with no conact due to right eyelid and left eyebrow lacerations. This would mean Brock would only have a bit over a month to train for his new opponent. Unlike Brock Cain knew he was fighting for the belt since his victory at UFC 110 and has been preparing for Lesnar for 4 months.

So far the only other possible Main Event could be Lil Nog vs Rampage but it has yet to be confirmed. In the case that they do not fight at UFC 119 the card will be in some serious danger

I just rewatched Cain vs Kongo last night. I’m sure Cain has improved some since UFC 99 but wow I really wasn’t that impressed with his “Fitch” style victory over Kongo. As far as Cain KOing Big Nog…. it really proves nothing as IMO Big Nog may be suffering from the “LIddell chin” in his older age. When this fight (CAin vs Brock) happens, I’m picking Brock to take it by vicious GNP.

I too watch the Cain v Kongo fight just the other day and was thinking the same thing.

I don’t think he could take Lesnar down as easily as he did Kongo and he sure as hell wouldn’t be able to control him like that. I know people don’t think the size difference is that big an issue but if the Cain v Lasnar fight goes this way Lesnar will come out on top for sure.

i dont think he will be able to take brock down at all because hes just too big but if cain can avoid the takedowns im confident he can pick him apart in the stand up. Cains got a great chin and his boxing is much better than brocks

Not really a surprise that the fight won’t happen at UFC 119. It’s too soon for sure. I just hope they sign a good headliner for that one. As far as Cain goes, he will need to use his speed and boxing against Lesnar.

Nope, dont think the white pride will let that one go for a while.
just a simple counter to your way of thinking.

Well if that is his game plan coming in, then his only hope would be to out-point him because I dont see him knocking Lesnar out. Not to mention he has to avoid the takedown for five long rounds to make that happen.
