so stupid, just fight your teammate, it isn’t a big deal, your still gonna be friends after the fight and if your not then he wasn’t really a true friend anyways

Do I think Kos can beat GSP: Yes, do I think he will…he’s done crazier things before so I don’t count him out but he definately has one hell of a tall order in front of him and GSP is always prepared for anything…as is Koscheck. I think this will be a fight of the year candidate and closer than you all make it out to be. As for Fitch moving up, I think he’ll have trouble with some of the top guys but I never count him out either I think there would be some exciting match ups

Yeah I agree with that. I know we would rather him stay and fight his friend but if he decides he doesn’t want to then I don’t think it’s unreasonable for him to move weight classes. I think for some friends it’s not about being enemies after the fight that stops them, sometimes it’s the feeling of beating them that hurts more when you know you just took a strike at their income and carreer. He’s probably not worried about wether or not they will be friends after it’s more likely they don’t want to be the one to beat the other. I am okay with that even if I don’t get to see a good fight because of it. yeah if everyone did it it would suck but hey I am not the one who has to fight a friend and if everyone did it then that would be their choice and if it meant the end of UFC well then why don’t you start training and get in there and solve the problem.

Neither would I but if you want to be a cahmpion and a competitor you have to know that to do that you will have to be willing to take out anyone in your division, if not than you don’t have the right attitude to be a champion. I think that Fitch is being a baby about this…

I thought it was pretty funny when he mentioned how lucky the next batch of fighters will be (on TUF), given that they will have GSP and JK as coaches.

Yeah, I can just see the teams being picked, now. Every one of those guys is going to be saying (in his head)…GSP…GSP…GSP…please let it be GSP.

Come on, if you had a choice, who would you take?

Yeah, I can’t wait to see the look of disappointment on the faces of the guys who end up in JK’s camp. Sure he’s a good fighter and I”m sure he’s probably a good coach, but this is like picking between a Nisan and a Ferrari; everybody is going to want the Ferrari – period.

And as far as JK getting under GSP’s skin – not going to happen. And if the steroid remarks were the best he could do, then that’s pretty weak.

And on that point – the only thing GSP has ever or will ever test positive for is – talent.

Man it’s not like beating your wife or some colleague at work. That’s their job. Plus they have beat each other every single week at training for years now!
I play rugby and i ‘ve been crush during trainings by my teammates far more than during the season.
No bad feeling. You do it because u like it. Aint no friend shit in it…

They are not afriad of damageing their bodies, they are afraid of damageing their carreers and don’t want to have the conscience of maybe helping end their carreer. It is actually respectful although I would like to see the fight I have no problem with them protecting each others future together because in a way that is a great friend. It also takes away competition between friends to refuse fighting each other. Like I said start training and be the guy who will fight no matter what. Nothing wrong with fitch dodgeing a friend as long as he still fights in another weight class. Fitch is probably on of the most hard working, humble, morrally sound, PATIENT!!!, and tough guys in the UFC. Training is different than the fights themselves, because in training you keep your money and rank whatever the outcome but in the actual matches you don’t you either lose money and rank or win it and these two obviously want no part in these decisions for each other. So if you want something different than get in there and fight.

Whats wrong with moving to another weight class, he will still be fighting then won’t he? I don’t believe it’s the friendship that would be at stake but the future of their friend possibly in the balance that has them resisting. It is honorable to support your friends future and limit your own as a sacrafice for them. Say you beat your friend and then he gets beat two more times and is given the boot when if he only had 2 losses he might still be in and make a return. They just don’t want to fight at the possible loss of a future of their friend on their hands. If it was a fight guaranteed to only shoot both up in their carreers I have no doubt they would consider it.

If JK loses and the Fitch fights GSP and subsequently, defeats GSP…

Does this mean that JK is going up to 185?

    LOL if it does.

I some how don’t believe JK would make the same promise.

I’m kind of surprised because usually Fitch is more professional than this. Changing weight classes to avoid fighting a friend is a ridiculous proposition, unless he is planning to go to MW anyway, which we all know he isn’t. This has come up before and my thoughts are the same. If he denies a title shot at WW now he should never be offered one again.

I think he can also but you forget about Jake Shields or if Maia moved down which I think he should do…I dont think GSP can beat Shields or Maia unless he keeps it standing and even then he’ll get put on his back

Maybe he would though. Speed is a huge advantage and he is probably faster than all but AS in the 185 division and he has incredible stamina and he has a great base. Sounds like he could but like you say, would he?

Not that rediculous if you feel competitive. If AS moves to another weight it would open doors. He wouldn’t be technically denying one if he moved weight classes. It would be different if he refused to move and refused to fight.

He has tried many times for a finish just never got it as with GSP. If he dominates while trying to finish it is honorable if he dominates without trying to finish it is weak. Watch all his fights and you will see him try and finish the fight but is unable just like the current champ who is also very dominant but unsuccessful at finishing. I enjoy listening to him more than your great Idea.
