he’s got one thing right, MMA fighters will never have striking as good as top boxers…for the fact that striking is all boxers do! I cant see Toney doing anything else other than boxing, WELL SUPRIZE ME TONEY, SUPRIZE ME!!

The more Toney talks, the longer Randy’s full body massage is going to last.

It’s interesting how Sonnen talked a whole bunch of trash about Silva, but when you looked at what he was saying, a lot of it made sense (particularly the fact that Silva would have trouble with a scrappy wrestler).
On the other hand, Toney is talking a bunch of trash and none of his points make any sense. Randy Couture can’t grab him and can’t kick him? That’s insane because that’s exactly what Randy will do. He’s gonna duck Toney’s first punch, clinch with him and put him against the cage, then take him to the ground.
Chael said some crazy things, but he understands the sport enough to know the holes in Silva’s game. When Toney talks, it’s like he has completely dismissed the reality of what will happen in the fight.

Every time I see this guy I’m reminded of the age old axiom about boxing and the difference that it denotes, between itself and MMA.
If has often been said – that if it wasn’t for boxing, this or that fighter would either be dead or in prison; that boxing gave them a life; something to do; a salvation, if you will.
In MMA – we find practitioners who have degrees in everything from accounting to software design; these fighters had and do have “options”.
When I think of that and I listen to JT…mumble, mumble, mumble…his way through, what is some really bad smack talk, I am reminded of the boxing axiom and wonder to myself…if it were not for boxing, would James Toney either be in prison or dead? I’ll guess prison.
RC – come the 28th.. please beat this guy and shut him up.

Yeah, I will be so pissed if Toney did get that lucky KO. Cuz we’d have to put up with so many interviews where he shits on MMA till they give him another guy that will destroy him. Hopefully Randy will come in at his best. This guy is a no class punk. Like you said, probly prison would be my guess. Maybe he’s really just trying to bring more hype and viewers to his fight. But his disrespect to Randy and the sport is not funny. That’s the bigger difference to me between him and Sonnen. At least Sonnen was telling the truth and it was clever half the time. The waterboy thing was pretty funny though. Gotta give that to him.
