8,196 spectators attend the Bridgestone Arena for Strikeforce: Nashville

Strikeforce have officially announced that 8,196 attendees witnessed the stacked Strikeforce: Nashville event at the Bridgestone Arena, in Nashville, Tennessee. The Tennessee Athletic Commission is expected to release the official numbers sometime during the next week.

Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Fight Night 18 headlined by the main event fight between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann attracted 10,267 spectators, 2,071 more than “Nashville”. The numbers point out a huge difference between the promotions, considering that the Strikeforce: Nashville featured three title fights.

I used to think the UFC was all there was, but faced the fact that I dont like a monopoly run by Dana Whipe. Whether you like Strikeforce or not, its good to have them around and those numbers arent too far apart for the UFC being the so-called best in the world.

Why dont they go back and figure out how many people watched CBS from home? I bet it blew the UFC away with those numbers.

im glad strikeforce is making some noise!
    if strikeforce gets getting bigger!
it will push the UFC to make better cards!

imagine it the UFC were the only orgnization with all the fighters!
they will still be doing shit cards with only the main event with good fighters , the co main event with 1 top fighter and the rest weak fights!

and use only 3 to 4 top fighters for card to avoid payin much to fighters
and use another 3 to 4 foe the next card and on and on!

now with competition will force to make at least 3 good fights per card!

People really have bad memory the UFC put like 3 cards in the month of march; Vera vs. Jones (March 21) UFC 111 (March 27) and UFC Fight Night 21 (March 31) and in april they did UFC 112 (April 10). I like that Strikeforce is here. But you can’t say that the UFC has been putting weak cards.

It takes about a week for them to get the final tv ratings in I think and the UFC also gives a way a crap ton of tickets so it’d be interesting to compare paid attendance.

They relied on an old Hendo to carry this card. Sure they had good fighters like King Mo, Mousasi, & Sheilds but those guys are not big names. Strikeforce needs to promote there fighters better.
