Bellator 33 Results: Askren is the new Welterweight Champion, Eddie Alvarez defeats Roger Huerta
Wrestling extraordinaire Ben Askren has successfully captured the Bellator Welterweight Title, after defeating Lyman Good via a clean Unanimous Decision. Askren dominated Good with numerous takedowns and ground and pound, improving his MMA record to 7-0. Lyman Good gave his best in the final minutes of the fights, but in the end, it was Askren who walked off the arena with a belt around his waist.
Also at Bellator 33, promotion’s Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez defeated the UFC veteran Roger “El Matador” Huerta in an exciting all-out war. Referee stepped in to stop the fight between Rounds 2 and 3 via injury, awarding Eddie Alvarez a TKO victory. Alvarez is now 21-2 in his MMA career, ranked as a #8 Lightweight in the World by the LowKick.com community.
